Browser Support: Clearing a Web Browser’s Cache, Cookies, and History

General Guidelines
- Supported Browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Mobile Browsers (Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS)
- Key Actions:
- Clear Cache, Cookies, and History to optimize browser performance and resolve common issues.
- Choose All Time in time range for a complete clearing.
- Important Notes:
- Clearing this data may remove saved passwords, preferences, or history you may want to keep.
- Restart your browser after clearing data for changes to take effect.
- Tools Needed:
- Access to browser settings or menus.
- Properly updated browsers for consistency.

Clearing Data: Desktop Browsers
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome and click the More button in the upper-right corner.
- Navigate to More tools in the top right corner > Clear browsing data.
- In the Time range field, select All time.
- Check the following:
- Browsing history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Click Clear data.
- After all is done, click the X button on Chrome and re-open.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the More button with the three horizontal dots “…” in the upper-right corner.
- Select History, then click More in the History menu.
- Open Clear browsing data.
- In the Time range field, select All time.
- Check all the following:
- Browsing history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Click the Clear now button.
- Quit Edge and re-open the application after all is finished.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox and click the Menu button in the upper-right corner.
- Select History > Clear recent history.
- Set Time range to clear to Everything.
- Uncheck Site settings and Offline website data, if necessary.
- Click Clear now.
- Quit Firefox using the X button and re-open.
Apple Safari
- Open the History menu in the upper-left corner.
- Select Clear History....
- In the Clear field, choose All history.
- Click Clear History.
- Quit Safari using the red button and re-open.
Clearing Data: Mobile Browsers
Chrome on Android
- Open Chrome and click the More button in the upper-right corner.
- Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data.
- Set the Time range to All time.
- Check the following:
- Browsing history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Click Clear data.
- Quit Chrome and re-open.
Safari on iOS
- Open he Settings app on your device.
- Find and select Safari.
- Tap Clear History and Website Data.
- Confirm by selecting Clear History and Data.
- Quit Safari and re-open.
Troubleshooting
- If no data clears:
- Double-check the browser version.
- Ensure all boxes (cache, cookies, history) are selected.
- If issues persist:
- Restart the browser or the device.
