General Guidelines
This module will show users how to export bookmarks or favorites from a browser for backup or migration to different browser or computer. Details on how to export or import bookmarks or favorites from Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari for both Windows and MacOS users will be provided.
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Apple Safari
- Mozilla Firefox
For Google Chrome Users
Task: Export/import bookmarks from Google Chrome
Instructions:
1. Click the "Three dots” on the top right
2. Select "Bookmarks and lists", then select "Bookmark manager"
3. Click the "Three dots” on the top right of the bookmark manager, then select "Export bookmarks" or "Import bookmarks"
4. Export and Import
- If you choose “Export”: Name and Save the .HTML file
- If you choose “Import”: Locate and select the .HTML file that you have saved or choose "Import from another browser" if desired.
Summative for Google Chrome Users
Your bookmarks are now successfully exported/imported from Google Chrome. The bookmarks HTML file you saved is now ready for backup or migration to a different browser or computer.
For Microsoft Edge Users
General Guidelines: Export favorites from Microsoft Edge
Instructions:

For Mozilla Firefox Users

Instructions
1. Click the "Three bars" on the top right
2. Select "Bookmarks"
3. At the bottom of all the bookmarks, select "Manage bookmarks"
4. Select the "Two arrows" for import and backup, then select "Export bookmarks to HTML..."
5. Export and Import
- If you choose Export - Name and Save the .HTML file
- If you choose Import - Locate and select the .HTML file that you have saved or choose "Import from another browser" if desired.
Summative for Mozilla Firefox Users
