Instructions

  1. Ensure the Power switch is ON and all systems have power.
  2. Confirm that the “HDMI PC” input is selected at the AV cabinet.  It will be indicated by a lit green led beside the button.
  3. Turn on the projector using the Epson remote blue power button.   The remote may be in the AV cabinet drawer or on the podium.  The projector should automatically select “Computer” input upon powering on.  If not, then also press on the “Computer” input button.
  4. If using the podium/workstation 1 computer, then check that “Input 1 Podium PC” is selected on the HDMI input selector switch on the podium.  Pressing the “Select” button will cycle through the different inputs if they are connected.  A red led light will note which input number is selected.  Note that the workstation in front of the podium cannot be used by a student if it is being used by the instructor to teach the lab
  5. If using your own laptop then connect your laptop to the “Laptop” labelled HDMI cable at the podium and check that “Input 2 Laptop” is selected on the input selector switch by pressing the “Select” button.  Audio will come through the HDMI cable.  Ensure that you select the HDMI audio output on your laptop audio settings.   
  6. To turn off the projector press the blue power button on the remote once and then a second time when prompted by the projector to do so.

General guidelines:

  1. Ensure to put the remote back in the drawer and leave the AV cabinet powered on.
  2. Please do NOT turn off the power bar; it should have a red light
  3. Please do NOT unplug the speakers from the provided computer
  4. Please do not unplug the HDMI cables from the HDMI input selector. There are two extra ports for HDMI connection on the top-left if necessary.
  5. Please return the provided HDMI cable neatly on top of the computer and video canter
  6. Left-click and right-click refer to the default right-handed mouse configuration - reverse them if applicable
Adapters can be arranged for upon request from the ServiceDesk

Troubleshooting Tips

Using the provided computer, if you do not hear any sound:

  1. Ensure your computer's sound is on and turned up, and selected properly
    1. Left-click the speaker icon in your taskbar
    2. Press/hold the right-arrow key on the keyboard until loud enough
    3. If there is a red circle with an X
      1. Right-click the speaker icon
      2. Click Sounds
      3. Click Playback,
      4. Right click an option on the list, and left-click Enable on the device marked with a black arrow
        1. Repeat this if necessary for other devices
      5. In the Playback tab, test other devices by Clicking Set as Default Device. A green checkmark should appear
        1. Repeat if necessary
  2. Ensure the speakers are powered, on, and sound turned up
    1. The power bar should have a red light, and the speakers should have a blue light (both on the computer);
    2. Plug in the speakers, and press the Power button if necessary
    3. There is a Button Panel Crib Sheet in the drawer of the Computer and video center, follow the instructions on the crib sheet if necessary.

Personal Device Inputs

Using your own computer, if you do not hear any sound:

  1. Ensure your computer's sound is on and turned up. See Troubleshooting Tips above
  2. Connect an Axillary (Headphone jacked) cable to the Audio Port on the cabinet.
  3. Turn up the volume on the cabinet as required.
