Rockwell Factory Talk Directory

Rockwell Factory Talk Directory configuration is required to allow for the user to connect to any of the Rockwell products including Emulate and Studio 5000.

All workstations within the department has been added to allow the user both remote and local access after specifying the correct directory.

Specify the remote Factory Talk Directory

Administrator Rights required for this process

  1. Click on Start/Search and type in Directory Location
  2. Click on Yes on the UAC
  3. Click on the ... button to specify the server
  4. Select Remote Computer on the popup
  5. Do not click on the ... to browse for a server but directly enter the server name srv-rockwell-pm
  6. Click ok on both dialog boxes to close the configuration and save the new location
  7. When prompted that a restart will be required, click on ok
  8. When the Log On is prompted, enter your MacID and password into the system. Failure to do so will reset the system
  9. The system is now setup. A restart is highly recommended but not required to launch Studio 5000 and Emulate. Note that Factory Talk RSLinx (incl classic) will require a restart to load in the directory for communication.
